Hi all,

aplologies for the lack of updatingness in recent times, but I've been incredibly busy.  I finished in Follies at Billingham Forum a fortnight ago and had 10 days off rehearsals, and have now started to rehearse Sweet Charity (May 14th-19th) at Middlesbrough Theatre!  So it's busy, busy for me!

Work's going well, we've had a scare recently - it looked like someone was going to be made redundant -it could have been anyone, but was going to, more than likely, be someone else, but its still a worry!

The woman who got the promotion position I went for last year has quit - silly cow!  Hopefully I will be able to put in for it again, but if I don't get it this time, I'm certainly looking for something new.

Hope all is well with everyone, and that spring has sprung for you all.

Love and hugs,

me
xx

This book is amazing.
The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
The blurb on the back reads :
The story of The Boy In The Stiped Pyjamas is very difficult to describe.  Usually we give some clues about the book on the cover, but in this case we think that would spoil the reading of the book.  We think it is important that you start to read without knowing what it is about.

If you do start to read this booh, you will go on a journey with a nine-year-old boy called Bruno.  (Though this isn't a book for nine-year-olds.)  And sooner or later you will arrive with Bruno at a fence.  Fences like this exist all over the world.  We hope you never have to cross such a fence.

After reading that I was intrigued and wanted to know more.  I started reading this book on sunday night and it grabbed me!  I read more on Monday night, again being drawn into the story.  With this being half-term I decided to have an hour or so's read yesterday lunchtime, which I did.  I read for an hour, and then cried for quarter of an hor.  Although this book draws you in, and certain things are signposted I felt as though I knew the people, smelt the pungent air, tasted the roast beef, cheese, etc.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
Go on ...

Hope everyone is well, and that this crappy winter isn't causing too much cold/flu/snot/etc for you all!

I can't remember a time where I have been so busy, I'm rehearsing 2 shows, Follies at Billingham Forum, 5th-10th March, and Sweet Charity, Middlesbrough Theatre 14th-19th May (plug, plug).  I'm crap at learning lines too, so it's very easy to get confused!

half way through this half term already, seems to have gone quick, but i'll still be pleased when the holibobs arrive (i always am).

I am not sure exactly how it works, but this is amazingly accurate.
Read the full description before looking at the picture.
The picture attached has 2 identical dolphins in it. It was used in a
case study on stress levels at St. Mary's Hospital.
Look at both dolphins jumping out of the water. The dolphins are
identical. A closely monitored, scientific study revealed that, in
spite of the fact that the dolphins are identical; a person under stress
would find differences in the two dolphins.
The more differences a person finds between the dolphins, the more
stress that person is experiencing.
Look at the photograph and if you find more than one or two differences you may want to take a holiday.

Just realised that I hadn't updated in ages, so feel free to ignore most of this drivel!

The show went well, there was one amusing thing that sticks in my mind. It relates to [info]goosiebn being a total doofus and being in his pants, more info on request!

The weekend after the show we went to London on the annual DOS trip. Wendy had got me tickets to see Mary Poppins for my 30th. OH MY GOD what a fantastic show - absolutely unbelievable. Convincing characters, amazing sets, wonderful songs. There aren't enough superlatives to describe it. YOU MUST GO AND SEE IT!

I have an interview next week of taht ICT/eLearning job I told you about before, so wish me luck!

Have realised taht I've left it too late to do a great deal of online buying for Christmas, but I can recommend some sites to you:
www.boogaloo.co.uk is good for stuff, e.g. DIY stuff, gifts, music, etc.
www.cd-wow.com is very cheap for cds, dvds etc.
www.bombayduck.co.uk is good for quirky stuff.

Hope the Christmas rush isn't killing anyone - stress or money wise.

Love to all

well, Millie's arrived here in good old Darlington, and the opening night went quite well - for me!

Stage crew had a bit of a mare, and so did one of the leads, but overall it was a successful night, if you wanna see what it's like go to www.darlingtonoperaticsociety.org.uk to see pics of the technical rehearsal.

There's a very funny Photo of me, W, [info]goosiebn and pam all looking in different directions, with g and I looking confusedly at each other! v funny.

Hope all is well with everyone!

I was called to a meeting after the kids went home tonight - a very unexpected one!

I've been pissed off with my situation at work recently, passed over for promnotion TWICE, not allowed to do some things that I put myself forward for, for the simple reason that, 'sorry Lee, we think thta you'd be better, blah, blah, blah' and generally not feeling that my career needs were being met. And, to boot, I have the class from hell this year!

Anyhoo, the meeting. It was with my Headteacher and the head of our LEA(Local Education Authority)'s head of e-learning (fancy name for support and training centre for ICT in the Darlington schools). Ray (LEA man) had identified to my Head that he was keen top offer me a secondment into the e-learning centre whilst a team member was on maternity leave. Shiela (my Head)thought this would be an excellent idea. So they called me in!

I would be supporting the development if ICT within schools in the LEA, training staff in specialist areas (mainly whiteboards and the associated teach side!) and troubleshooting problems in school! Sounds good. It would be 2 days a week

got back last sunday, but haven't got round to updating!

last week was fantastic, as i said, i got the Edward part in Blood Brothers. we had 6 days to learn 50 pages of script, songs, harmonies, etc. We were exhausted. It's strange but i cried for almost 4 days solid (as the part requires) and felt emotionally drained, but extremely happy and content. I had some very nice comments about my performance, as did Wendy about hers!

If anyone is remotely interested in am dram, then this is the place to go to. Next year in Scarborough they're doing excerpts from Grease, Pirates of Penzance and Grand Hotel! I fancy doing Pirates!

Am very tired, very happy and ultimately emotionally exhausted!

See ya'll soon!
